It’s never easy for a non profit to ask for money, but it’s necessary for it to survive.
Money puts gas in the vans that bring the greyhounds up to Cincinnati. It pays for the veterinary bills and the medications. It puts brochures in the hands of potential adopting families, and promotes the organization in the community to raise awareness.
We are grateful for every dollar that is donated, and strive to spend it as prudently as we can. Every dollar is stretched to maximize its benefit to the organization and to the greyhounds we are working to place into adoptive homes.
There are times when we take on the responsibility of bringing an injured greyhound
up to Cincinnati to rehabilitate it and prepare it for adoption. Though inspiring
and rewarding, the financial cost of healing an injured greyhound can be sizable
and unpredictable. We have established a separate special fund -
